Why Are Dolls House Dolls Very Special Miniature Dollhouse Toys For Little Girls?

My earliest fondest memories were of the hours spent playing with dolls, and yes the central feature to all of this playing was most definitely my beautiful dolls house. Unlike many of my friends mine was a handmade hand painted beautiful palace, or so I imagined, with a perfect little family in residence.

It would be a good thing to ensure that your daughter or granddaughter have the same everlasting memories with their dolls in a great miniature house . Video games and IPods although popular do not offer the same worth and longevity that quality dolls and dolls houses do.  I liked my first Sony walkman recorder but can't really think of a specific time and memory where my walkman featured but, my dolls I remember vividly.

What would a dream miniature home be without a little family to live in the house. Dolls house dolls often depend on the type of house that you have and are buying. A Barbie would look out of place in a miniature doll house but get lost in a made to be sat in play house. I so clearly remember a perfect fit was never important though even my teddies were invited so yes dolls are a necessity, but all are welcome.

Miniature scale houses always have a certain fascination like a mini life, the first Sims computer games were played on the floors of little girls everywhere in their miniature dolls houses. The great thing about good dolls house furniture is the value is not only emotional, but also financial and this allows it to be an heirloom passed down From generation to generation always added to and shared.

When I think of dolls house toys it is always the dolls house furniture that I could not stop playing with rearranging the house and the furniture took much longer than actually playing with the dolls, but it wouldn't have been as much fun if we didn't have a little family to get the house ready for. Now that I have my daughter who is 5 I am slowly bringing out all of my old beautiful miniature furniture and together we shop to add to this wonderful collection starting her on what hopefully is one of many hobbies she will pursue, and teaching her how to value things worth valuing.

When you think of dolls house accessories and furniture you often think of the dining table, lounge suite, lamps and tables. But the bathroom and kitchen appliances that are out there often in antique porcelain will blow you away with their beauty and detail. The same applies to miniature mothers, fathers and children with their pets.

So the next time you are out looking for birthday present or Christmas shopping don't get the latest gadget that will be replaced within a year or even the latest plastic made for mass distribution plastic toys. Enhance your connection with your child and get a toy that will give joy and have value for generations to come.

Dolls Houses Dolls And Dolls House Furniture Are Great Toys For Kids And Parents

When I was a little girl, my biggest dream was to have my very own dolls house. I knew exactly what I wanted too. It had to open up so I could place the dolls house furniture all over and move it all around at will and it had to have a functioning front door. There had to be two stories; upstairs would be a complete bathroom and two bedrooms – one for the mummy and daddy dolls and one for the baby doll – and of course, what would a dolls house be without a downstairs kitchen, lounge and dining room.

There are few things that bring as much joy and happiness to a little girl than being able to play with her own dolls, dolls house and dolls house furniture. I would recommend that every parent or grandparent of a little girl make a plan of some sort to either buy or even build a dollhouse for their precious child. The hours of play that come from having one of your very own is worth all the money spent and effort put into making this magical childhood dream come true.

Dolls houses can also meet the likes and preferences of any little girl from Victorian to modern day. The options are endless – almost as much the same as they are for a real house. Miniature houses are great for play areas with space constraints, child-size, walk-in houses are wonderful for a bigger girl and one who has more play space. A garden, pool, club house, stables and tennis court are all optional extras to bring even more imaginational play into your daughter's experiences.

The dolls themselves are also a big factor in playing house. They have to fit into the house and they need to be flexible so that they can move around and use the furniture. For example a doll with legs that don't move makes playing slightly frustrating as her movements are very limited. The more 'real' the experience, the more fun there is to be had. These dolls can also if chosen carefully be a collector's item with real value, adding another dimension to this fun activity.

It also helps if the furniture is as close to a real-life setting as possible and by this I don't mean that it has to be operational or even look exactly the same. It just has to have all the accessories like the kitchen and bathroom appliances too. These can found to match any dolls house or bought in a set, with so many detailed and varying types and designs, from porcelain to plastic, or they can be custom made which makes them all the more unique and personalised.

Having a dolls house fitted with furniture and dolls isn't only something little girls enjoy either. Many adults enjoy collecting and adding to their childhood collections of their dolls houses and furniture. So you never know this could turn out to be a future hobby of your little one. On top of this, there are also the generations of children who follow in the family who can share in the joy of real play and using their imaginations, instead of just sitting in front of the television or computer.

Dolls are believed to have been around since prehistoric times, and may well have been the earliest type of toy used by man. These dolls were certainly made of natural materials such as clay, wood, and fur. Many of them may have been used as children's toys, but it is believed that they were often used to represent a deity, and likely played a key role in religious rituals and ceremonies.

None of these ancient dolls have survived through the ages, but dolls have often been found in Egyptian graves dating back as far as 3000 years. Some of these dolls were made of pottery, but most were made of flat pieces of wood painted with different designs, and with hair made of strings of wooden beads or clay. Dolls have also been found in the graves of Greek and Roman children, some with movable limbs and removable garments.

Later, Europe became a major producer of wooden dolls. Some of these dolls were made from tree stumps, while others were 'peg' dolls, made with simple peg joints and resembling a clothespin. Composition dolls, which were made from mixtures of pulped wood or paper that were molded under pressure, were developed in the 1800s. These dolls were durable and could be mass produced. Dolls with wax heads were also popular in the 17th and 18th centuries. Porcelain and bisque dolls became popular at the beginning of the 19th century.

The French "bebe" dolls were popular in the 1880s. Up until this time, most dolls represented adult figures. The bebes were different, because they represented younger girls. In the 1900s, realistic German bisque dolls were introduced and became very popular. These started an ongoing trend of creating realistic dolls.

Rag and cloth dolls have been hand made for centuries. 'Rag' dolls are made of any fabric, while dolls made specifically of linen or cotton are considered to be 'cloth' dolls. Commercial production of rag dolls was started in the 1850s in England and America.

It was not until after the Civil War that doll making became an important industry in the United States. Most dolls were produced in New England, and were made of various materials such as papier-mache, leather, cloth, and rubber. Celluloid was developed in the 1860s and was used in the manufacture of dolls until the 1950s. Although these dolls could be mass produced very cheaply, they were extremely flammable, and would fade in bright light.

Hard plastic dolls were made in the 1940s, and dolls of vinyl, rubber, and foam rubber were made in the 1950s and 1960s. The use of vinyl allowed doll makers to insert hair into the head, rather than having to paint the hair on, or to use wigs.

Modern dolls have traditionally been toys for children, and 'action figures' representing 'superheroes' are now very popular with boys. There are even 'virtual' dolls available on the Internet which can be designed, dressed up, and played with on web sites. Most dolls are now manufactured using modern materials and mass production techniques. However, dolls are also now collected by adults, and some manufacturers use the same kinds of materials that were used in the past, to create 'vintage-style' collectible dolls. But whatever the type of doll, they all trace their roots back to prehistoric times. They are truly 'toys from antiquity.'
