Following the success of the Strawberry Shortcake product line they had designed, in 1981 American Greetings Card Company released a new series that starred the Care Bears. The Care Bears began as a series of greeting cards that had been drawn by childrenÂ’s illustrator Elena Kucharik. Two years later, after the greeting card series was in full swing, Kenner released the Care Bear Teddy Bear line.

Each Care Bear was a uniquely colored teddy bear with a white patch on their stomach that had a specialized insignia on its belly. For example, Good Luck Bear had a shamrock, Bed Time Bear had a crescent moon, and Grumpy Bear had a rain cloud. After the release, the Care Bears were seen in their own television series and had three full-length movies. In addition, they spawned a second set of stuffed animal toys, that were called Care Bear Cousins. Animals like lions, monkeys, elephants, penguins and raccoons were designed in the same style of the care bear teddy bears. The Bears live in a land called the Kingdom of Care-A-Lot where they fight negativity and sadness with a special super-hero like move they called the Care Bear Stare. The Care Bear Stare occurs when the Care Bears stand together and radiate light from their respective tummy symbols, combining to form a ray of love and cheer which is supposed to be strong enough to bring joy and care into even the darkest heart. Kid specific records, books, board games and video games soon followed.

Should I wait in line for a Wii (read full question). Also is Sears getting any Wii's?

Okay, I have a pre-order an I am 14th on the list. The store informed me that they are only receiving 10, so I am outa luck for launch date, unless I wait. After stating that, and after the store easily selling their ten Wii's, I would be 4th on the pre-order list. The man I spoke to said, "The sooner we sill them, the sooner they send us more." All of the first 10 people decided to keep their Wii's obviously... So my question is, do you think they will receive another shipment of atleast 4 Wii's before or right after Christmas. By the way, the store is Saturday Matinee.

I hope that you have good luck with your pre-order...I think that I am definitely going to wait outside very early morning of lauch day--eventhough I rreallly wish I had a preorder. If I were you I would try maybe going on bestbuy.com or some internet site right when they begin selling internet wiis- that way you have a chance of getting a wii, you can probably pick it up in the store a little bit later and if you do end up getting one in time, at least you wont have had to wait in the cold for hours on end. Although I would do this, I'm not sure how bestbuys policy works for the online wii, but I think that it's definitely something to check out!

How can I learn to make dollhouses and dollhouse furniture?

And where do they sell miniatures and stuff for this? I know my mother made a dollhouse once and she loved putting it together, but that was quite some time ago. Where could I research how to do this?

I have been making dollhouses and miniatures for many years! I have two right now. One is huge and some of the pieces I paid over a hundred dollars.

I even worked for a place part time to learn how to make metal pots, pans, silverware, etc.

Do a google search for miniatures and dollhouses (be careful with "dollhouse" though as a lot of porn sights use that term).

You can also find items in local craft stores like AC Moore, but the quality isn't as good.

There are many books out there in hobby shops and libraries. I have made tons of stuff for mine.

There used to be a magazine called "Nutshell News" which showed how to make many items. I got a whole collection (about 100) at a garage sale two years ago.

You can also look on Craig's list to see if anyone is getting rid of their old collections. Dollhouses were very popular about 6 years ago.

As I said I worked for a company, we went to a convention in Chicago which was fantastic. There were hundreds of people there.

How to safely remove paint from an aluminum Boat.?

Not sure if I should sand it, I would not think so. Is there a stripper I can buy that won't eat the aluminum? I was also thinking of getting the inside of the aluminum boat sprayed with truck bedliner, white in color of course. Would this be a bad Idea? The boat is and old Dura-Craft 14 ft V-hull made of aluminum. Thanks for your time and concern with this question.

Soda or dry ice blasting is very safe on the alloy, very effective and gives the best possible start for an A1 paint job - but it is not cheap.

There are plenty of strippers that will have no effect on the alloy, although if you have a two pack finish you will find they are much tougher to attack chemically. If you have a two pack finish in fair order you are best off getting any repairs done, lightly sanding, using an etch primer on any raw alloy, using a high build epoxy primer over the lot and then a couple of coats of two pack for a long term fix. These products require a professional attitude and safety gear to be used at all times.

Bedliner in an alloy boat can look o.k. and seems cost effective - but corrosion can occur underneath it that requires a lot of work later to try and fix. Adhesion to alloy is difficult without correct etching and priming, and once you have done that you may as well finish the job properly. A similar preparation and treatment as the outside of the hull will give a much longer term fix. Here's a trade tip - use sugar liberally on the last coat inside for grip with two pack. Hose the surface down when fully cured to dissolve the sugar and leave a very effective but soft on the clothes and knees grip pattern. The grade of sugar makes the grip fine or course.

Umm....I feel silly to ask this question but does anyone know where I can buy a Nemu*Nemu plush they sold at Kawaii Kon in 2007? Are Vans shoes slip resistant?

Just got a job as a server and i need black slip resistant shoes. I have a pair of Vans skate shoes but I don't know if I am able to wear them at work. Can I? If not what shoes do you recommend?

i would vote for vans, the sole has an excellent stabilizing surface, and they wear well. 2nd choice would be skechers or new balance, they have some good black "server" shoes as well. good luck with your new job, and with your choice of shoes, too! (hint: when working on your feet for a living, don't wear the same shoes everyday. get at least 2 pair and alternate them. your feet will thank you for it.)
