Dolls are small things but even small things need a home. The littlest dolls need little doll houses. The Little Tikes doll house is big enough for the smallest of dolls yet roomy enough for even a fairly large doll. Children and adults agree there are different sizes of things. Some things are really big, but some big things are not nearly as big as the biggest of big things. Of course, small things are exactly the same way. How to Make a Fresh-Water Big Bottle-Nose Bass from Easy-to-Find Supplies!

Build a crazy fish with just a few items you can find around the house. This is a fun craft for kids, parents, teachers and educators to learn to build, and you can make it with very simple supplies. Just follow the instructions, and view the video and photo step-by-step instructions at the below links for more specific information.

Fresh-Water Big Bottle-Nosed Bass

Always use your imagination and be creative when building this project or any others. It's your creation, so be inventive when looking for building supplies - you just may be surprised! When building your project, experiment with new and different ways of putting it together. The most important thing is to have fun!

Find these or similar supplies!

* Regular Masking Tape

* Blue Masking Tape (Optional For Customizing)

* Colored Paper or regular

* Colored Markers

* 2 Straws for optional stand

1. Tape your bottle

Start out by taping your water bottle up completely. I used the blue masking tape for the main body color. You could use regular masking tape instead and color your fish with a marker and make your own designs.

2. Make your fins!

To make my tail, fin and flippers, I found a piece of colored craft paper. As always, you can use what ever you find. Try using an old cereal box. I drew out my fins and then cut them out. Try making different designs..., cutting them out and hold them up to your fish to see which ones you like the best.

3. Attach your tail, fin, and flippers!

Now start putting it together. Attach your tail, fin and flippers using small pieces of tape at first. This way you can move them around to find the best location. Once you like where they are, permanently tape them in place.

4. Make your eyes!

Eyes are great because every one makes them different. I tried using bottle caps and tacks, but I settled with making my own. I used wadded-up pieces of masking tape that I shaped by hand, and then carefully covered with tape. I then colored them and taped them into place. See what you can come up with!

5. Make your mouth!

To make the mouth I carefully wrapped a piece of tape around the bottle cap and folded it in on itself, shaping it as I went. After several layers and some trimming I colored it.

6. Make your spots!

I cut out spots for my fish from regular masking tape. I made them different shapes and sizes. I stuck them on and tried to space them evenly. You could try making stripes or something else instead.

7. Color your spots.

I tried coloring my spots solid first, then came up with the multi colored look. What can you come up with?

8. Make a display stand!

I made a display stand for my Fresh-water Big Bottle-mouth Bass using a old making tape roll and two straws. Tape the straws onto the insides of the tape roll. Hold the bottom of your fish up to the straws and make marks, cutting small holes into the base of your fish where you've placed the marks. Now drop your fish onto the straws and VOILA! - a Fresh-water Big Bottle-mouth Bass!

Choose Toys Based On Developmental Level

Before choosing toys for autistic children, it is important to know what types of toys autistic children would benefit from. Toys should not be chosen based on age. Since autistic children develop at different rates and there are varying levels of autism, toys should be chosen based on developmental level. This can be determined by observing the child.

Repetitive Motion Toys

Autistic children like toys that require them to do repetitive motions. They like to try the same thing over and over and to figure out how things work. It offers them some type of calm. They soothe themselves by repetitive motion. They like to push buttons, turn knobs or, say the same phrases repeatedly.

This need for repetitive motion can be fulfilled through toys. Simple balls that children can roll back and forth or exercise balls that children can sit on and roll are great choices. Oval balls, peanut shaped balls, and round balls all work well in giving children the opportunity to roll balls back and forth with a teacher or care giver. Even infant toys such as stackers are great ways for children to perform the repetitive motions that are important to their sense of calm.

Balance and Movement Toys

Along with playing with toys that require repetitive motion, autistic children like to move themselves in a repetitive way. Many autistic children rock back and forth, do the same motion with their hands continually, or may even bang their head. Many look at these motions as strange, however many researchers tell you that repetitive movements help autistic children regulate their bodies. The motions sooth and center them as yoga might for an adult. This is why swinging or spinning are great options.

For the classroom or for therapy, movement toys bring about the desired feeling autistic kids are longing for. Balance boards are a good option. Children can stand on the board and rock from side to side while keeping their balance. Rocking disks create the same feeling but children rock side to side while sitting. Balance beams and mini trampolines are also good ways to allow kids to balance and move.

Finding the right toys for special needs kids in their classroom, at home, or for therapy doesn't have to be difficult. By following these tips and observing the likes and dislikes of the children you are working with, you can use these toys to teach and reach autistic children.

i have a set of four dolls, leonardo believee, one of them has a small baby doll attached, one of them is named molly idon'tt know the names of the others, they all have display stands and are in good condition. if anybody has a home for these dolls or knows where i might be able to sell them i would be pleased to hear from you. What would a Victorian girl have had in her bedroom?

I love the Victorian era and I want my bedroom to be inspired by that time.

A Victorian girl, if she was from a middle class or upper class family, would certainly have had a dolls house, but they were for playing with in those days. And she would have dolls, dolls might be made of china, wood, or wax. She might have a rocking horse. If she was a teenager she would probably have a dressing table with a mirror and brushes, combs etc.

Perhaps you could have a bookshelf with some Victorian era girls' books. Authors like Louisa May Alcott, Susan Coolidge, Mrs Molesworth, Charlotte M. Yonge, Mrs Ewing, George Macdonald, Frances Hodgson Burnett, would be popular with girls. Older girls might enjoy authors like Jane Austen, the Brontes, Charles Dickens, Mrs Gaskell, Alexander Dumas etc.

She might have a writing desk, as girls wrote a lot of letters in those days, they kept up lengthy correspondences wtih friends and relatives (the Victorian equivalent of emails and texts). Girls often kept diaries in those days, so a leather bound diary would be an appropriately Victorian object.

Sketching and painting were popular activites for girls, so she might have some drawing and painting materials in her room. And perhaps some of her paintings or sketches framed on the walls.

Sewing was something all girls were taught to do, and most young girls would make a 'sampler' with a picture and some writing (usually a short poem or Bible verse), using different varieties of stitching. You might have a sample on your wall. And perhaps some other sewing lying about, girls did 'fancy work' embroidering cushion covers, handkerchiefs,tablecloths etc, as well as sometimes doing more practical sewing like mending clothes etc.

Here are a few guidelines for performing cleaning and routine maintenance of your model trains. Regardless of whether you have a Lionel set or any other brand, performing maintenance helps avoid trouble later on.

For Lionel set locomotives, maintenance checks can be performed by removing the cover to see the inside. To remove the cover on steam engines, you must first remove the screw located underneath the smokestack. For diesel engines, remove the body by spreading at the sides so that the pins will be released then pull upward. Then flip the locomotive upside down to clean the wheels. You can use an X-acto blade to peel off the layers of grime. You can use an eraser pad to finish removing dirt and debris from the wheels of your model trains.

In addition to clean wheels, locomotives need oil applied to the moving parts to keep them lubricated and working properly. It is recommended to refer to your owner's manual for instructions on applying oil. When applying the oil, keep a close watch to prevent over-oiling since excess oil has the tendency to drip out and can disrupt the electrical conductivity if it drips on your rails. Thin oil is recommended, such as 3-in-1.

Another part of the locomotive that requires cleaning is the commutator and the brushes. If these parts are not cleaned, dirt and dust can build up preventing the motor from picking up electrical power. Eventually, the locomotive will fail to operate. However, this cleaning is only needed about once a year with normal use. A technique for cleaning the commutators is to have the locomotive run slowly without the body. Then apply Rail-Zip cleaner to a rag and use that to clean the commutator as it spins. The brushes also need cleaning. These can be cleaned by spraying them with television tuner cleaner, which can be purchased from electronics stores. Allow the cleaning solution to drip of and wipe the area dry. After cleaning you are ready to put the body back on.

The wheels of freight cars also require routine maintenance. Even with shining rails and running locomotives, every Lionel set still needs clean wheels to run smoothly. An easy way to get the wheels cleaned is by mounting a straight section of track onto an 18-inch, 2x4 board. Then put a paper towel or rag and place it over the heads of the rails and drip rubbing alcohol onto the rag. Next, trickle a few drops of Goo-Gone onto rails before running the cars on the rails a few times. Continue running the locomotive back and forth over the rails until the wheel look clean and shiny.

Lionel train sets are built to last. Customer satisfaction levels are among the highest of any brand of model trains. Nevertheless, even the best train sets and locomotives require maintenance and cleaning to continue to operate smoothly. Following these procedures can ensure years of happy railroading.
