Dolls are small things but even small things need a home. The littlest dolls need little doll houses. The Little Tikes doll house is big enough for the smallest of dolls yet roomy enough for even a fairly large doll. Children and adults agree there are different sizes of things. Some things are really big, but some big things are not nearly as big as the biggest of big things. Of course, small things are exactly the same way. Building a dollhouse can be exciting for the build itself, while giving endless joy as a finished product to both children and adults alike. For many, building a dollhouse from scratch is a hugely challenging but ultimately highly rewarding pursuit.

Fall crafts are a wonderful way to engage students in one of the most beautiful times of the year. A variety of colors ranging from rustic oranges to deep crimsons inspire children to create colorful works of art. With some simple materials and a little preparation, a teacher can help students generate innovative fall scenes that they can actually feel. The following materials are needed: Orzo pasta, food coloring (red, green, yellow), card stock paper (blue or white), white tissue paper, brown marker, glue, wax paper, plastic baggie, and water. The teacher should prepare the colored rice ahead of time. The directions for the dyed orzo are for one picture.

1. Pour 1/4 cup of orzo into the plastic baggie, 1 tablespoon of water, and 4 drops of food dye (2 red and 2 yellow to make orange). You can use more food dye if you would like the color to be darker.
2. Gently knead the baggie to mix the dye with the orzo.
3. Spread a sheet of wax paper on a flat surface.
4. Pour the dyed orzo onto the wax paper to allow it to dry. It will take at least 1/2 hour or more.
5. Keep all the dyed orzo in individual bags according to color. It would be helpful to prepare separate bags of each color for every student or group of students depending on class size.

To begin the craft:

1. Each student receives a sheet of card stock paper. It is necessary to use thicker paper due to the weight of the orzo.
2. The student creates the tree trunks and branches with the marker, as he or she plans out the fall scene.
3. Glue is applied to the scene and the colored orzo is sprinkled on the area. Shake the paper to remove excess orzo.
4. Use the tissue paper to create clouds in the sky. Pull apart the tissue paper to make wispy clouds. Attach them to the scene with glue.
5. Allow the pictures to dry.

The pictures become colorful tactile representations of fall. Children are able to touch the leaves on the trees and feel the wispiness of the clouds in the sky. For additional features, you can add animals to the scene by cutting them out of construction paper and pasting them in the picture. Water can also be part of the scene. Use blue colored plastic wrap to simulate the clear ripples of the water. Whether you add other features to the scene or create a simple autumn picture with trees, students love the ability to touch items in their creation.

I am looking for any information on a doll house that my mom purchased in 1987 from a Spiegle Catalogue.?

This doll house was 3 stories and had 5 rooms and a side balcony. The inside was decorated to look like it had tile, hardwood, and carpeted flooring. There were also beautiful pictures on the back walls to make it more realistic. The outside was covered with roses and looked like it was built with pink bricks. The windows were white plastic and there was a double door leading out onto the balcony upstairs. The third floor was decorated to look like a nursery. One side was pink and the other was blue. There were baby furniture, toys, and other accesories in the picture on the walls. I lost this house about 2 years ago. It meant alot to me and I would really love to find out if I could ever have another one.

Since you know it came from Spiegel's in 1987, my suggestion would be to find a 1987 Spiegel's Catalog and look it up.... search ebay, there are none on now, but a catalog is sure to turn up if you keep searching....you may not even have to buy the catalog, the seller might just look it up for you if you ask. Once you know who made it and the name it will be easier to search for. You can also browse ebay's doll house catagory. Good luck!

I am doing an art project. I am supose to make a dollhouse and furniture for it. Dollhouse kits come in all types and prices. Most will have the houses separate though, and many of those are quite complex to make. Do look at "hobby stores" as well as "craft" stores (places that sell model railroad supplies, etc.)... they more often have those kinds of kits.

You don't say how large these things need to be, or how much you're supposed to "make" them.

I can vaguely remember this movie from when i was a kid, which featured this group of kids, who went to a fair or circus and came back with a Little clown doll.When they got home their parents left them in the house alone.A group of clowns then proceeded to gather outside and build a wooden platform with a noose in which to hang someone from.One of the clowns gathering outside then waved at the children who were watching from the window of the house.
At that point i then left the room and ran upstairs-i was about seven at the time.Can anyone else remember this?

The dollhouse market is inundated with toys and miniatures geared towards young girls. Almost everyone can remember playing house when they were young. Different children played house in different ways, but the general idea was the same. There was a family, and a kitchen. Little kitchen sets are perfect for playing the game, and helping children learn about taking care of a family.

When kids play house they can act out different times in a family's life. For example, they can use their play food and kitchen to have pretend dinner time. One person can pretend to cook and the other one can put all of the little dishes on the table. They can even mimic conversations like "how was your day at work, dear?"

Once the meal is over they can pretend to wash the dishes, or use the play dish washer if they have one. If they have a baby doll, they can pretend to set it down for a nap or feed it a bottle.

Kids also like to grocery shop. With a toy cash register and some fake household items, like little cereal boxes and things, they can play grocery store. One person can be the customer and pick out things that they need to buy like eggs or hamburgers, and then take it to the cashier. The cashier can add up the cost and come up with a total for the customer to pay. Most play cash registers come with play money to use, or pretend credit cards. They can put all the items in a bag and the customer can "go back home" with their groceries.

It is fun for children to imitate their parents and things that they see on television. Watching a child play house is one of the ways we can see what they have been exposed to, and what they understand about family life and the world. Playing house with your kids is also an opportunity to teach them things. If you play grocery store, you can teach them about adding and subtracting money. You can also teach them about housework if you play in their toy kitchen and show them what you do.

Playing house can be an extremely fun learning experience. With play kitchen sets, cash registers, play food and play money, kids can have hours of fun pretending. Encourage them to use their imaginations. Do not be afraid to take the time and play this game with them, as well. It is an opportunity to bond and build memories.

How do you train a dog to not do bad things?

I have a miniature dachshund and he is almost 1 years old. I need him to stop going through the bathroom trash, and tearing up things like toys, shoes, tissue, and what not. He knows better but he waits until me or my mother are not looking and he does the crime. How can i train him not to do these things?? Also he pees on the carpet, he used to go outside but he doesn't anymore, he just pee's in the hallway or in my bedroom, this is quite aggravating. Please help and thank you in advance.

How about putting things away and closing the bathroom door so he can't get in there? He's a Mini Dachshund, so it's not like he's jumping up on things to pull them off of tables and such.

Also, is he neutered? If not, get him neutered - the peeing in the hall could be marking his territory, and neutering will help to cut that back. You will also need to THOROUGHLY clean everywhere that he has peed, with an enzymatic cleaner, to make sure that there is no scent remaining that he can take as a signal that "it's okay to pee here".

Joe” went from being the name of one specific action figure, to the name of an entire line of action figures for boys.

By the 1970s the G.I. Joe brand was doing quite well and Hasbro kept thinking of innovative ways to keep their successful brand alive. It was at this time that they started producing the G.I. Joe Adventure Team, which was comprised of a group of soldiers all committed to the same goal as G.I. Joe.

As the seventies continued to evolve, so did G.I. Joe. He was given flocked hair, and even some G.I. Joes came with a kung-fu grip. It was in the seventies that the first superhuman team member was introduced, his name was Bulletman. Other new team members introduced in the seventies included Eagle Eye and The Defenders.

G.I. Joe found a force that he could not defeat in 1978 when the price of petroleum grew so high that G.I. Joe production was suspended. It wasnÂ’t until 1982 that the line was re-introduced in a smaller size. The smaller size action figures were created as a direct result of keeping production costs lower to accommodate the price of petroleum.

It was also in 1982 that G.I. Joe was licensed with Marvel Comics. This partnership was very lucrative for Hasbro and Marvel with $200 million in combined revenue by 1984. At the time there were uniforms, weapons, vehicles and comic books rounding out the G.I. Joe brand.

Also in the early eighties G.I. Joe found himself fighting a slew of adversaries including the Drednoks. By this time the brand had grown so large that real human characters were being incorporated into the G.I. Joe adventure team. The first was professional wrestler Sgt. Slaughter followed by Chicago Bears legend William “The Refrigerator” Perry.

GI Joe toy question....?

My son loves to play with GI Joe figures, he always plays with them in my daughters doll house...I was wondering if Hasbro makes a command station or some type of "house" setting for the guys. And if they do, do you know which store I can buy it. I have tried walmart.com, amazon.com, and hasbro.com.

The 4" joes? Hasbro hasn't made any for several years. You can search ebay for several of them released since 2000.
