Do you believe homosexuality is a sin or do you belive in gay rights?
I was born in Poland and raised in America. As a child my family attended the local Catholic church in Connecticut....Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church...that was built by Polish Americans. My parents never spoke against or for gay rights. It just was something we didn't talk about.
Today I live in Salt Lake City which has a lot of people of the Mormon faith...Catholics are the next biggest group. Both religious groups are conservative and are against homosexuality. In this morning's newspaper cover story I was surprised to see a picture of my apartment manager with his male partner (they got married in California before it became against the law) and his daughter (from when he was married to a woman) and his granddaughter. I like Russ, my apt. mgr., but I have a difficult time speaking about gay rights. I'm just confused.

Cali. became the battleground for gay rights for a good reason cause of the Mormon church that funded the prop 8 and i think that people who donated their own money for it are stupid
i mean why on earth do that?
here in US we have the separation of state and church at least we should have but somehow it is not here
marriage is a civil thing and religion and politics do not mix up
i have a big opinion on people who are against it and i say it like it is i do not sugar coat things and believe me i pay the consequences for being honest but you know what i stick to my principles and i will not change it just to please anyone
the bottom line on this is that i always ask the same exact question ofr people who are againt gays
if a person wants ot marry the same sex, what is it to you ? how does it affect your life ?
and i always get the same answer and that is cause it is against the bible
but we should think about if the bible is a relevant to the way we live in the 21st century
the bible says a lot of things on how people should and should not live
and we can agree all the time and extract those quotes from that book but it is just not worth it
homosexuality is not a choice of lifestyle people are born gay
i have gay friends , im surrounded by gays and they want marriage cause with domestic partnership there are about 1.000 liberties and rights that they do not get
the fight for gay rights kinda reminds me how it waswhen black people were not allowed to marry white people in several state
sometimes i feel like im living in like medieval times
i mean can we just all as a human being get along ??? something like race, sexuality, nationality or even religion should not define us
