If you see a beautiful raincoat that fits and you can afford, take and run. Don't stop until you are through the check-out line. Designers are neglecting this wardrobe necessity. It's challenging to find anything other the plain-brown-wrapper of a trenchcoat in neutral colors.
Double-breasted, belted, sometimes with epaulets and buckles on sleeves, lined or unlined, the trench raincoat can go anywhere and never goes out of style. We see them in films from the 1920s and last year.
It's a fashion classic -- but why does the trenchcoat have to be the only rain wear fashion? Even the usual colors are a dreary list of neutral tones. Wouldn't it be grand to see it in jewel hues of sapphire, ruby, and emerald, or an array of earthy pumpkin, loden green, and maple-leaf yellow.
Leavening the mix recently have been some gaily patterned rain boots. These are rather like the dreaded black rubber galoshes our mothers insisted we wear, but all dressed up in fresh color such as fuchsia and green paisley.
One may also brighten a rainy day with one of the flower-shaped umbrellas available from some retailers. You may find shelter beneath the petals of a giant sunflower or fronds of palm. These umbrellas are clever and colorful.
When purchasing a raincoat, be sure to read the fabric descriptions carefully. Some are water-resistant, but not waterproof. Slickers with PVC or rubberized coatings may be waterproof, but sweaty and hot underneath. Some raincoats may not be dry-cleaned. I ruined one doing exactly that.
A beautiful raincoat can brighten a gray day and lift the spirits. Manufacturers are missing a huge potential market by offering a limited selection of neutrally-colored trenchcoat plain brown wrappers.

Can I super glue a piece of fabric on my nylon rain coat, and it will be ok?
My favourite rain coat is damaged, it was burnt at the back, and the only thing i can think of to fix it is to glue a piece of fabric with super glue on the burn and maybe sew it after to make stronger. Do you think it will be ok? It is a serious question honestly.
Use tear mender:
"Tear Mender is a natural latex cement that bonds to most fabrics. It is waterproof and U.V. resistant. Although Tear Mender touts itself as a fabric cement, we found its uses more impressive on nylon, rubber, naugahyde, etc. It seems to leave a visible shiny glaze on softer, more absorbent fabrics. We therefore recommend Tear Mender for your tents, boat covers, sleeping bags and rain gear. The Tear Mender people (Val-A) also sell a Tent-Mender and Jean-Mender kit, complete with fabric and glue. Tear Mender smells like dirty diapers because it has a high ammonia content, and although it is only slightly worse for you than changing dirty diapers, it should be used in a well ventilated area. Also, people with allergies to latex should not touch or use this product. Tear-Mender takes about 15 to 30 minutes to dry depending on application, and holds quite well on most synthetic materials. It remains flexible, and claims to survive extreme hot or cold temperature. Tear-Mender is available through their web-site (you can even request their instructional video!) , Television Suppliers, and some camping stores."
