Did you know that there are luxury log cabins all around Britain? They offer great getaways, whether it's a romantic getaway for two you are looking for, or a family holiday.
One of the great things about luxury log cabins is that they make great accommodation for winter or summer breaks. In the winter, why not book a cabin holiday in Scotland? Scotland has a fascinating history with an extensive collection of castles, ruins and monuments to explore, and luxury log cabins provide a base from which to explore the sights of this Celtic country.
Castles and monuments
Wallace's Monument is probably Scotland's best-known monument, built in 1869 on the Abbey Craig to commemorate William Wallace's recapturing of Stirling from the English in 1297 during the Battle of Stirling Bridge. It holds a two-handed sword that is said to have belonged to Wallace, although this is much-disputed by historians.
On an island in the mouth area of Loch Moidart on the West Coast stands Castle Tioram, dating from the 13th century. There have been proposals in recent years to restore this ancient and beautiful building and convert it into residence, but these have so far been blocked by those who wish for it to be preserved as a historical ruin.
Further south you will find Aikwood Tower, also known as Oakwood Tower, near the Borders town of Selkirk. It stands on the Ettrick Water and is thought to have been built by Michael Scott not long after James V's 1535 decree when he decided all Scotland's southern landowners should build defensive towers against the English.
The current occupants of the tower are Sir David Steel and his wife. They acquired residence in 1989 from the Duke of Buccleuch.
Mains Castle is very old, dating roughly from the early Thirteenth Century. It stands about one mile north of East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire, which is a thriving post-war 'new town', and Scotland's sixth biggest town.
Of course, if you'd like to mix your historical trips with a little modern-day enjoyment, head to Scotland's capital city Edinburgh, where you can enjoy all the glory and interest of Edinburgh castle, as well as a vibrant and exciting city. Climb the steep hill to the castle by day, then meander into town in the afternoon, where you will find all of the usual favourite high street shops as well as some great pubs to take refreshment breaks in, before heading back to your luxury log cabins for a well-deserved rest.

Where is a great place in Arkansas to stay in a log cabin for one night?
I am getting married next month. And I am wanting to spend at least one night in a cheap but nice log cabin. I am wanting it to be either in Hot Springs or somewhere close to hot springs... If anyone has any ideas please let me know!
These cabins aren't log cabins, but they're comfortable, inexpensive, and situated in a beautiful state park. When I was growing up in Hot Springs, Lake Catherine State Park was my favorite place to go for a day hike by myself. I haven't actually rented any of the cabins myself but my aunt and uncle stayed there last summer, and I visited them.
