Is it normal to become girlier as you get older ?
People have always called me a "dark child", because of my love of all things dark and disturbing. Somehow, I think that has changed. I think that I (of all people) have become a girly girl. Is it normal to change like that ? I used to be depressing and dull. Now i'm positively cheerful ! If I knew this a year ago, I would have been disgusted at the thought. But now, all I'm thinking is,
"I really wish I had a satin nightgown !"
And no, I have not become stupider or anything. In fact, I have never has such good grades ! I also do not wear make-up or revealing clothes. What *has* changed about me ? I'm in love with pink, frills, satin, sparkles, dancing, gymnastics, and more. I have also become a LOT more bright and cheerful. So, is this normal ?
PS. Does my profile look girly ? One of my friends told me that when she looked at it, her eyes were burning from the girliness of it.
Wow...you sound just like my daughter. She was always on "the dark side" wearing black and all. She just turned 17 and about a year ago she started liking "girlie things", sparkly jewelry, some pink things (she got pink rubberbands on her braces) She loves the freedom of more choices! I think your normal and it is healthy that you are welcoming the changes that you feel. Don't let anyone give you crap about it. If they do, they are either uncomfortable with change or they are jealous. It sounds as if you are blooming into a healthy, happy young woman. Good luck with all that your future holds!!!! PS.
