Described rather astutely as "The Laurel and Hardy of Danish electro pop," Junior Senior's "D-D-Don't Stop the Beat" is the coolest thing to come out of Denmark since Lego. Already huge in Scandinavia, the JS sound (think the Cramps, the B-52's, and Wham! in some gloriously incongruous pile-up) can't fail to paint a smile on the hardest of cynic's face...

How do you put together a dollfie doll?

I'd like to get a dollfie doll, but I cannot find anything about how to put them together. I'd really like a boy doll, but I cannot find any heads with eyeholes for boys, so I need some help on that.

How do you put in eyes? What is needed for this?
How do you put on a wig, and can it stay on? if so how do you do this?
How do I paint on her makeup? what do I use?
what is this I here about needing to clear coat them? and how do I do this, and where do I get the coating?

What else do I need to know?

If there is no way to make a boy dollfie doll with the eye holes (instead of those ones that you have to paint on, that look like GI-joes...) Then I'd get a female doll.

I basically just have to buy a body, a head (or a body with a head) eyes and wigs, right?

Thanks for any help. I can't find anything at all on this.

Do you mean an Obitsu, or a Super Dollfie? Super Dollfies are far more expensive than the obitsu dolls, (and since you can't find heads with eyeholes, I assume you've been looking at Obitsu).

First of all, I would suggest checking out the Den of Angels forum - you can learn a ton there. :) And you'll be able to find links to places where you can buy dolls/heads/bodies etc.

For the eyes - Dollfies will have a headcap that can be removed so you can put in/change/take out the eyes. All you need is a pair of eyes (obviously) and some sticky tack or blue tack to hold them in place. Eye size depends on what kind of doll you have, so check that out first.

For the wigs - Just basically slide it on their head. You can also turn them inside out and then fold them back right-side out over the head. To keep them on, you can use velcro.

For the makeup (also known as "faceup")/clear coating - You'll nead a sealer (Usually, Mr.Super Clear works the best, but Testors Dullcote also works if you cannot find MSC.) You'll have to spray the blank face before hand (this will prevent staining), and then you can use acrylic paints, chalk pastels and watercolour pencils to do the faceup with. After you've finished you'll have to spray is again with sealer to make sure it doesn't come off. You can remove it later with non-Acetone nail polish remover if you want to redo it.

Anything else you'd need to know you can find by looking through Den of Angels and reading things there. You can get boy dolls from many places, but http://www.eluts.com is one of my favourites - their dolls are fairly inexpensive and are gorgeous. :)

Hopefully this helps!
